What to Expect During the WorkshopThis two-and-a-half-hour-long workshop taught by author and former journalist Paula L. Jones is designed to show students how to craft a short story and upload it to Amazon.com to be published!
Jones will set stage with a fun icebreaker for the students. Its purpose is to create a relaxed yet educational environment conducive to the writing process. The icebreaker will also ensure that the students pair up into groups of two. Paula will explain that everyone has been paired with their writing buddy or "critique partner," and briefly discuss the importance of collaborating with critique partners for storytelling excellence. She will then show the students how to begin writing their stories. |
After the students complete their stories, they'll enjoy a snack and downtime while Jones edits and formats what they've written. It is during this process that Jones will create one book containing all of their short stories.
During the last 15 to 20 minutes of the workshop, Jones will let the students watch and assist her as she uploads their book of short stories to Amazon KDP.
The cost of this program is $150/ten students. For groups consisting of more than ten students, each additional student is a fee of $15.
